Patna, Feb. 1: Grandparents of the tiny tots of Notre Dame Academy (NDA) today had a day worth remembering.

The Montessori kids of the academy designed and decorated photo frames for their grandparents.

The school and the Parents Teachers’ Association (PTA) organised an activity class for the children today.

The kids first designed the frames and then put their grandparents’ photo in it.

“The members of the association assisted a lot in the activity. The day is more special because tomorrow is Notre Dame Day,” said Leena Lall, public relations officer, NDA-PTA.

The children were given prizes for their performances in the activities. In Montessori -III A, Akanksha Singh stood first and Shruti Raj came second. Vijaya received the third prize.

Anisha was the winner from Montessori-III B. Renu M. Tiwari and Anushka got the second and third prizes respectively.

Among Montessori-III C kids, Anushka Gupta stood first and Arushi second. Natali came third and Kurt James Hurley was the winner among Montessori-III D students. Vanshika Khushi stood second whereas Urijita bagged the third prize.

Sister Neeta, director, Montessori House was also present at the event. Neeta said: “These activities should be organised frequently. It not only encourages students in showcasing their talents but also assists in enhancing their creativity.”

She added: “The way children are using their imagination to design the photo frames should be appreciated. Activities like these keep on enhancing their imaginative power, which would help them a lot in future.”

PTA president Mansi kanoria, vice-president Shahina Khan, secretary Neeta K. Choudhary, treasurer Leela Singh played an important role at the event. Neerja Sharma, Seema Joseph and Parul assisted the teachers in managing the event. Principal of the school Mary Tessy was also present on the occasion. Sonal Sirmaur, Sangeeta Singh, Madhulika Mishra, Richa Mishra were the judges.
