Motihari, March 4: Residents were treated to some mesmerising presentations of folk culture last evening.
Artistes from various parts of the state and country converged in the district for a cultural programme, Vasantotsav 2012. The programme was organised by Champaran Sanskritik Mahotsav Committee at the Town Hall.
The show began with the recitation of Vidyapati Geet by Saroj Verma, an artiste from Varanasi. Other presentations, including Braj Ki Holi by artistes of Bhartiya Kala Sansthan and Deeg from Bharathpur, Rajasthan, kept the audience spellbound.
Swarnim Kala Kendra and Sadhna Kala Kendra of Muzaffarpur presented Holi songs, along with Bihar folk forms such as Chaiti, Kajri and Jhumar.
