Bhagalpur: The Bhagalpur district administration has lodged an FIR against Rajiv Ranjan Singh, a former land acquisition officer, for absconding with important maps of revenue villages and other files.
Singh, who retired as district public grievances redress officer in August, has been on the run since the CBI chargesheeted him in the Srijan scam. The district administration on Saturday evening lodged a FIR at Jogsar police station, accusing Singh of not handing over maps of 32 mouzas (revenue villages) proposed to be taken for Bypass Road along with some land acquisition files.
An official said the missing documents have also hampered acquisition work for the proposed NTPC plant at Pirpainty block. Earlier, embezzlement of more than Rs 270 crore had come to light from the district land acquisition office.
