The last date of submitting application forms for For Patna University undergraduate course aspirants, <>June 15.

The form selling process in different colleges of Patna University started in the first week of May. The entrance test for admission in PU colleges will start in the third week of June.

The entrance examination of different colleges will be held on different dates thus giving enough scope to students for applying in more than one institution. The UG entrance test at Patna Science College will be held on June 20.

The college is considered as the best educational institution for imparting science education in the state, has received more than 6,800 applications for around 600 seats in mathematics and biology (streams).

The maximum applications have been for the mathematics stream where 5,820 students have applied for 350 seats, while for biology 1,000 students have applied for 250 seats. The college administrations are enthusiastic as the number of applicants is expected to increase on Monday-being last date for submitting the admission forms.

Unlike last year, the Patna University administration has made some changes in the entrance test format. R Pandey, coordinator for entrance test at Patna Science College said: "The 100-marks objective paper will be different from previous year. This year the question paper will consist of 30 marks each of physics and chemistry and 30 marks on mathematics and biology (depending upon the stream for which a student had applied). There will be ten marks from general knowledge and general studies."

Till last year, the entrance in the science stream was carried out on the basis of 60-mark questions on subject specific while 40 questions were from general knowledge and general studies.

Welcoming the move, Anup Prasad, a student of AN College who had applied for undergraduate course in Patna Science College said: "The new entrance test will be more beneficial for science stream students as in Class XII or Intermediate, general studies topics are not taught to students."

Patna College, which too will close its admission counters for accepting admission forms on Monday, have received around 2,600 forms for the admission in 600 seats for undergraduate courses (arts and humanties).

The college administration is also expecting the numbers to increase on Monday. The entrance test will be held on June 25 under the same revamped pattern of the Patna University.

Similarly, at Magadh Mahila College, around 5,000 forms have been sold in arts and science streams.

The science entrance test will be held on June 19, while arts entrance test will be held on June 20.
