Patna: AN College on Saturday launched a workshop on increasing career opportunities through digital literacy and candidates expressed interest in moving away from traditional jobs.

Nearly 200 graduate and postgraduate students of business administration attended the seminar held in association with CFS India, a Delhi-based skill development company.

They brainstormed ways to increase job-readiness and learned about digital learning and entrepreneurship through web-based opportunities.

Sayed Kazim Shabbir, head of the MBA department, advised the students to become job providers by reaping benefits of digital platforms. "There is huge potential for employment in the digital market. Students and young professionals must not let the digital age go without nourishing their skills and lives," added Shabbir.

"Our objective is to make our students aware that business ideas lie within society. They can have their own enterprises using digital tools, and instead of demanding jobs they can become job providers," he said.

CFS India's director Arbab Ashraf spoke about the dwindling employment opportunities.

He said: "Bihar is primarily an agriculture-driven economy. But the younger generation is ready to depart from traditional occupations, if guided correctly. Personality grooming, communication skills and meaningful digital exposure are the keys to bag modern-day and extremely competitive jobs.

"Joblessness is an adversity but we need to start looking at opportunities in this adversity," he told the students, advising them to find work, upgrade and innovate.
