Representatives of various private unaided schools from 18 states, including Bihar, would hold a conference in New Delhi on July 14 in protest against the Right to Education (RTE) Act.

Bihar Public Schools and Children Welfare Association chairman D.K. Singh on Tuesday said the schools would file a plea with the Supreme Court, requesting it to revise its decision to make it mandatory for the private unaided schools to reserve 25 per cent of seats for weaker sections of society.

“The schools, under the banner of our organisation and National Independent Schools Alliance, would raise the issue of reservation during the convention because the institutions fear interference of the government because of the provision,” he said.

“If non-aided minority schools are exempted from the RTE Act, why not the non-aided private schools? This non-aided private schools would raised the issue during the conference,” Singh added.
