| Unemployed youths sit on a dharna to protest against the “recruitment policies” of the state government at Kargil Chowk in Patna on Sunday. Youths who took part in the rally had diploma in engineering. They criticised the state government for not giving preference to them for the post of junior engineers in the rural development department under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act scheme. They said the government rather preferred BTech degree holders for the post. The rally started from Kargil Chowk and culminated at R-Block. The youths demanded that the recruitment of BTech degree holders, who have been given the post of junior engineers, be cancelled. The agitated youths also demanded that applicant’s age for the junior engineer’s post be lowered from 21 to 18. Reservation of women for the post also was one of their demands.
