Action has been sought from the district administration against Motihari Nagar Parishad ward No. 10 councillor for alleged misconduct with a woman in the town.

On Friday, former chairperson Chandra Shekhar Gupta, in a petition to East Champaran district magistrate, sought the removal of councillor Santosh Kumar. Sources said Santosh entered a house in ward No. 11 when he was caught by the residents and beaten up on Wednesday night. Chief councillor Prakash Asthana said: “The incident has not been reported to the police but such a person has no right to remain in such a post if allegations against him are proved.”
