Boring Road resident Samiksha Sinha checked out every store couple of months ago for a mathematics textbook only to be disappointed. Her sister in Calcutta finally bailed her out. The next time, she wouldn't need to.

A Calcutta store has opened an online portal to help out students like Samiksha who are left in the lurch for missing textbooks in their city. With one click of the mouse, book worries would fly out of the window, courtesy www.onlyschoolbooks.com, across the country.

The initiative is of central Calcutta store Trinity Books' owner Arshad Subla. ICSE and CBSE students can get all academic books and reference material they need from the portal, Subla assures. It was launched on August 8.

The store, like many other of its ilk such as www.cbseguess.com, www.goyal-books.com and not to mention, the biggies such as Flipkart and Amazon, offers customers books at lower rates than available in the market. Besides academic books, students can get sample papers of classes X and XII, competitive books and other stationary items. With eight months left for the 2016 board exams to arrive, students are happy. They know their bookish woes are only an online cart away.

Class XII student of St Joseph's Convent High School Samiksha said: "Around May-June, I was frantically looking for a mathematics textbook written by M.L. Aggrawal. But it was nowhere to be found in Patna. At last my sister in Calcutta sent it to me last month."

Her sister, Tanya had bought it from Trinity Books, Subla's store. Before Subla opened his online portal this month, several other students benefited from his store.

"Students from other parts of the country would visit our store at the beginning of the academic session for books they did not find in their hometowns. That's when I decided to start the online portal. Students preparing for medical and engineering entrance examinations can also get question papers, solved sample papers, reference books and exercise books from www.onlyschoolbooks.com," said Subla.

St Karen's High School Class XI student Ipshita Rai said: "I bought the Hindi question bank book from Gyan Ganga at Rs 399 and my friend bought it from Trinity for only Rs 199. Now, that they have launched an online portal, I will buy all my Class XII academics and reference books from this site."

Subla, the owner of Subla's Publication and Distribution Pvt. Ltd, opened Trinity Books more than 15 years ago. With time and reliable service, he became a popular face. He said: "We focus on school books. The wide variety on our web store would also help students find the book of their choice. Customers also get a 30-day replacement guarantee, if the books are damaged on delivery, starting from the date of purchase. Once the book is sent back, the amount is credited to the customer."
