Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University has decided to set up chairs after Hindi writers Phanishwar Nath Renu and Ramdhari Singh Dinkar.
The chairs are being set up in accordance with the government's decision to honour important personalities from the state's academic field.
Vice-chancellor Ramashankar Dubey said the chair in the name of Dinkar would be set up in the postgraduate Hindi department. Dinkar, who is known for his patriotic poems, had also served the university as vice-chancellor from January 10, 1964 to May 3, 1965.
The chair proposed in the name of Renu - who wrote Maila Anchal among other notable works - would be set up in the Hindi department too.
"It's a matter of great pride for the Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University to have these chairs to honour the great writers of Bihar," Dubey said.
