The state cabinet on Tuesday gave its nod to the IT/ITeS investment promotion policy 2017 and electronic system design and manufacturing promotion policy.
The government will launch the policy on Thursday at the IT, ITeS investor conclave to be attended by chief minister Nitish Kumar, Union IT and telecom minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi. 'The state cabinet today gave its nod for IT/ITeS policy,' Brajesh Mehrotra, principal secretary, cabinet coordination department, said.
The state cabinet also gave its nod to the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 2017. The labour department has been asked to periodically conduct child labour survey. Similarly, the social welfare department will, under its action plan, work to protect child labour through Anganwadi and other agencies.
In another decision, the state Cabinet gave its nod to empower block development officers vis-a-vis issue of new ration cards and correction of name and address in ration cards under the Bihar Right to Public Services Act. Earlier, the power to carry these out lay with the sub-division-rank officer.
The Cabinet also gave its nod for constitution of Bihar Institute of Correctional Administration Society and its by-laws and for transfer of 8.495 acres at Aurangabad to the National Highway Authority of India for construction of a six-lane road at NH 2.
