Boy found

Patna: Five-year-old Kanhaiya Kumar, who was kidnapped from his house in Begusarai's Vikrampur village on Friday, was rescued from Bakhtiyarpur in Patna rural on Sunday. Six people were arrested in the rescue raid. The police have handed the child over to his parents.

JEE Advanced

Patna: At least 15,000 students appeared in the JEE-Advanced across centres in Patna, Muzaffarpur, Gaya and Katihar on Sunday.

CM Ranchi visit

Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar is scheduled to visit Ranchi on Monday to participate in an open session of the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha led by the neighbouring state's former chief minister Babulal Marandi. Nitish has been invited as the chief guest for the event and his janata durbar on Monday has been cancelled because of the trip.

Flood fight

Patna: Water resources minister Rajiv Ranjan, alias Lallan Singh, on Sunday convened a review meeting on flood preparation work at Sichai Bhavan. Lallan said strict action would be taken against engineers who fail to perform.

Man hit

Darbhanga: A vehicle in the deputy inspector-general's escort party allegedly hit a person, Bijli Yadav, on Sunday near Taralahi village on the Darbhanga-Samastipur highway. He is undergoing treatment at Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital.

Collision kills 11

Bhagalpur, May 22: At least 11 people were killed after a truck rammed into an auto near Pasaichak on the Pirpainti-Barahat road this morning around 10.

Arrest

Patna: Dilip Kumar Singh, a gangster wanted in Bihar, UP and Bengal, was arrested from Lucknow on Saturday.

Blockade

Patna: Patna College students staged a blockade demanding compensation for Rajesh Priyadarshi, who was killed in an accident on Saturday.
