Trader murder

Buxar, April 19: Surendra Kumar Gupta, the owner of a poultry farm in Dumraon, was today shot dead by motorbike-borne criminals at his shop near the Dumraon police station. Police said the motive behind the murder of Gupta, a resident of Shapur in Bhojpur district, was yet to be ascertained.

Road mishap

Bettiah: Three people were killed and 12 others injured when two sports utility vehicles collided on the Bettiah-Areraj road in West Champaran district late on Monday night. The victims were returning from Bettiah after attending a wedding ceremony. The injured were rushed to a local government hospital.

Clash

Sasaram: Group clashes broke out in the Bikramganj sub-divisional town of Rohtas district during a procession late on Monday night. Additional security forces have been deployed in the town to keep tabs on the troublemakers.

Raids

Saharsa: Police are yet to make a breakthrough in the murder of Saharsa RJD youth wing district president Shaymsunder Tanti. Saharsa deputy superintendent of police Subodh Kumar Biswas said raids have been carried out at different hideouts of the suspects.
