Officials promoted
Patna: The state government on Tuesday promoted three IAS officers to the higher administrative grade.
They are energy secretary Pratyaya Amrit, industry secretary S. Siddharth and state revenue council additional member S.M. Raju.
Court order
Patna: The high court on Tuesday directed the government to file an affidavit in connection with an RJD bandh on July 27, 2015, during which protesters stopped the car of a sitting judge twice.

Stipend petition
Patna: The SC/ST welfare department informed the Bihar Human Rights Commission that it had received one lakh petitions for SC/ST scholarships.
The commission had taken suo motu cognisance of a news report on SC/ST students of Bihar being forced to leave Rajdhani Engineering College, (REC) Bhubaneswar because of the government's failure to pay their stipends.

Motihari: Motorcycle-borne members of the banned Azad Hind Fauj opened fire at the construction site of Rishi Builders India Private Limited near Sekhauna village on Tuesday. No one was injured.

Bagaha: Police recovered the body of Ram Chandra Yadav, who had gone missing from Garbhshahi village, from a pond near the village on Tuesday.
