BJP takes jibe at leaders

Patna, Dec. 12: BJP leader Nand Kishore Yadav today said RJD chief Lalu Prasad, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi had shown great annoyance over demonetisation, but the people's support for demonetisation proved the common man was against black money and corruption.

Start-up policy

Patna: A meeting on the start-up policy was held on Monday under the aegis of the central government's department of industrial policy and promotion, and the Bihar industries department. State government officials made a presentation on measures taken by Bihar to promote entrepreneurs.

Wage demand

Patna: A conference organised by Bihar Jharkhand Rajya Vidyut Parishad Field Kamgar Union ended here on Monday with the union demanding minimum wages of Rs 18,000, same work for same pay, payment of bonuses and implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations.

Attacks

Samastipur: Rinku Mishra, manager of a petrol pump at Morba Tajpur, was shot at and critically hurt when he was returning home after work on Sunday night. In Begusarai, Aman Kumar (16) was shot dead by two bike-borne criminals at Simaria Ghat on Monday. Police said one of the suspects, Saurabh Kumar, was arrested from the spot while fleeing.

Vulgar text

Patna: Vivek Kumar, a resident of Bakhri in Begusarai, was arrested on Monday for sending vulgar message to a teenaged girl of Patna City area. The girl had lodged a complaint with the Chowk police station against Vivek.

Gang busted

Patna: Police on Monday busted an inter-state robbers gang operating at Dhanuruwa in rural Patna. The police have arrested six members including the kingpin, Mohammed Tabij. The police recovered a tractor and a bike from them and seized a country-made pistol and four cartridges.

Patna: BJP national president Amit Shah will visit Patna on January 10 to participate in the yearlong birthday centenary celebrations of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. Shah will kick start the function in Bihar.

Cryptic contest trophy

Patna: Amar Mishra and Prem Thillak of Navras School, Vadodara, have lifted the trophy of the fourth edition of CBSE Cryptic Crossword Contest 2016. The grand finale was held in Delhi recently.

Delhi Public School, Patna, was among the 34 teams that competed in the finale.
