IAS tranfers

Patna: Thirteen IAS officers, including the district magistrates of Madhepura, Khagaria and Sitamarhi, were transferred on Sunday.

Madhepura district magistrate Laxmi Prasad Chauhan has been shifted to the water resource department as joint secretary. Mohammad Sohail, the former joint secretary, would replace him. The charges of Saket Kumar and Rajeev Raushan, the Sitamarhi and Khagaria district magistrates, respectively, have been interchanged. While Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Bhojpur, Nalanda, Katihar, West Champaran, Sitamarhi, Gaya and East Champaran have got new deputy development commissioners, principal secretary, water resources, Sunil Kumar Singh has been relieved for central deputation.

Two killed

Bhagalpur: Two persons were killed when an autorickshaw overturned near Bhagalpur post office on Sunday. One of the deceased was identified as Sazid Alam (21).

Suspension

Munger: Munger superintendent of police Varun Kumar Sinha on Sunday suspended 20 constables for absence from duty. They had been deputed between Deoghar and Sultanganj during Shravan.
