Merger ticket maths
Patna, April 11: Dissident JDU MLA from Islampur Rajiv Ranjan today said 57 sitting JDU MLAs would be denied tickets in the event of merger taking its final shape.
At present, JDU has 111 MLAs while RJD has 24. Ranjan gave the logic that RJD chief Lalu Prasad would put a condition that those MLAs should not be given tickets where the JDU has lost in the Assembly segment during the Lok Sabha polls.

Patna: A dharna was organised on Saturday in front of Hindi Sahitya Sammelan in Kadamkuan and Mithapur pump house in Narendra Bharti Mandal area under the leadership of Bankipore MLA Nitin Navin to protest against lack of pure drinking water and the government's decision to close down Patna water supply scheme.

Lucknow (PTI): UP police's special task force and Bihar police on Saturday nabbed a contract killer, Vikas Pal Singh alias Pehalwan, from Gorakhpur alleged to be behind the murder of a Siwan politician.

Chhapra: Advocates Sri Ram Singh and Ravi Ranjan Prasad Singh were elected president and general secretary, respectively, of the Chhapra Bar Association.
Sri Ram defeated his nearest rival by 20 votes while Ravi sailed through by a margin of 179 votes against his nearest rival.
