Patna, Dec. 29: Chief minister Nitish Kumar today reviewed projects of the planning and development and rural works departments at his secretariat.

Nitish directed the officials concerned to complete the Kosi project on time and asked them to start self-help allowance schemes for youths.

Clarification

Patna: The secretary to chief minister, Chanchal Kumar, on Tuesday clarified he did not call any district magistrate in the erstwhile Shahabad region for taking action against a group who beat up some JDU supporters recently. "I never spoke to any DM in the Shahabad region as mentioned in the (Patna Diary) report (on Tuesday) and no DM has communicated to me the information as described there," he said.

Shelter

Chhapra: The nagar parishad will construct two-storeyed night shelters on the premises of the sadar hospital in the town. The shelter can accommodate 150 homeless persons.

Modi jab

Patna: BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi slammed the government for the deteriorating law and order and said all claims made by the administration stands belied.

Loot

Patna: Armed criminals looted a sports utility vehicle belonging to former MLA Dharmendra Prasad Yadav near the Masaurhi railway crossing in Patna rural on Tuesday evening. The criminals also assaulted the former legislator and two of his acquaintances.

Held for murder

Gopalganj: A woman accused of killing her mother was arrested from Bankati village on Monday night. The suspect had earlier escaped from Muhammadpur police station. 

Trade-cop talk

Patna: Members of Bihar Industries Association and IPS probationers was held on Tuesday in which the role of police 
in industrialisation was discussed.

Exhibition

Patna: A science exhibition-cum-fete was organised at Rajendra Public School on Tuesday.
