Maidan gym charge
Patna, Oct. 3: The open gym at Gandhi Maidan would not be free, as Patna divisional commissioner Anand Kishor today fixed a registration and monthly fee of Rs 100 each for use
of the facility.
Kishor said the decision has been taken in view of the rush and uninterested people occupying the gym equipment. Interested people can now register themselves in the commissioner’s office and the money charged would be used to maintain the gym.

Patna: Officials seized 15,383 litres of illegal liquor from across Bihar on Saturday under a poll drive. Nepalese currency worth of Rs 61,565 was also recovered from Kishanganj.
Rugby tourney
Patna: The state team won the Wheel Chair Rugby Championship organised at Moinul Haque Stadium on Saturday. Uttar Pradesh, New Delhi, Rajasthan and Haryana, among others states, participated in the championship organised by the Paralympic Committee of Bihar and Indian Wheelchair Rugby Foundation, New Delhi.

Chhapra: The sitting Sonepur MLA, Vinay Singh, filed his nomination papers as a BJP candidate for the third phase of the Assembly polls on Saturday. Shatrughan Tiwari, alias Chokar Baba, also filed his nomination papers as the BJP candidate of the Amnaur Assembly segment. Former minister and Lalu loyalist Udit Rai filed his nomination papers as an Independent candidate for the Chhapra seat.

Bridge survey
Patna: Railway Board chairman Ashok Kumar Mittal on Saturday inspected the under-construction rail-cum-road bridge over the Ganga between Digha (Patna) and Sonepur (Saran). He also visited Pataliputra and Pahleja Ghat railway stations. The 4.5km bridge would be the longest of its kind after the completion.
