Sushil's GST call for traders
• PATNA: Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi has called a meeting on November 1 to discuss problems among the trading community because of implementation of the goods and services tax (GST). The meeting has been called around 2pm in the old secretariat. Modi said relief has already been given to marginal traders. He said 1.27 lakh traders had given a brief about their returns but only 1.09 lakh had actually managed to submit them.
• PATNA: Members of the Bihar Rajya ANM Contractual Employees Association have decided to stage an indefinite dharna to push for regularisation of services. Association president Anu Kumar demanded implementation of equal pay for equal work. They said results of their written test and interview should be published and their services regularised.
Vigilance week
• PATNA: Government organisations started their Vigilance Awareness week. NTPC Kahalgaon will observe the week till November 4. Executive director of the project, Rakesh Samuel, administered a pledge to all employees and officials on the premises of the administrative building of the unit. Employees of Madhya Bihar Gramin Bank also took a pledge to eradicate corruption in Patna. Similarly employees of the regional office of Punjab National Bank were administered the pledge by regional manager Dinesh Kumar Paliwan.

• PATNA: Vijaya Bank celebrated its 87th foundation day with a meeting of its customers and employees. Regional manager Rajesh Kumar Sharama inaugurated the event. Sharma pointed to positive financial trends of the bank in the past three months and said the bank had registered over 30 per cent growth. The bank also felicitated branch managers for their performance.
