Patna, Dec. 15: Nearly 18,000 families across the state would soon move into apartments with ultra-modern facilities at affordable rates.
The plan for 18,000 flats, to be developed by Bihar State Housing Board (BSHB) across the state, including Patna, is almost finalised. The BSHB has given its nod to the respective schemes at its last meeting held in the last week of November. Now, a proposal would be sent to the state cabinet for its approval before the const-ruction work begins.
“The board, at its meeting on November 28, approved construction of 18,000 new flats in the state. A proposal would now be sent to the cabinet for its approval,” a senior BSHB official told The Telegraph.
The approved plans include construction of 5,000 new flats and other commercial establishment in Sector 3, 6 and 7 of Bahadurpur Housing Board Colony. It has also been decided that no money would be charged from the legitimate allottees who are occupying the existing flats. However, the illegal occupants would have to pay for the new flats.
Though the board is yet to decide the prices of these flats, it has given its nod to finalise construction of 64 under-construction flats belonging to the high-income-group category. Moreover, fresh allotment would be made for the flats that have been completed.
The board has also decided to execute the lease deed of 37 residential-cum-commercial plots (of BSHB) in Patna with successful bidders. The plots were auctioned on July 6 following the state govern-ment’s directives.
Another 10,000 new flats and commercial establishment would be developed on a public-private-partnership mode over 100 acres of BSHB acquired land at Mustafabad in Gaya.
