Patna, May 5: Two more persons fell prey to attacks by the “blade man” in the state capital today despite police installing cameras in various strategic locations to check the menace.
The first incident occurred around 11am in the Gai Ghat area under Alamganj police station. The victim, Shashi Kumar (19), is an autorickshaw driver. “I have no clue when I was slashed. I was on my way to Patna from Patna City, along with some passengers. On reaching Gai Ghat. I felt a sharp pain in my right arm and found it was bleeding,” the man said.
Barely 10 minutes after the first incident, another attack was reported at Raja Bazaar under Shastri Nagar police station. The victim, identified as Abdul Rahman, was on his way to collect tea at Sheikhpura Mazaargali area, when he was attacked by the “blade man”.
“I work as an attendant at an optical shop in the same area. It was around 11.10am and I was crossing the road to get some cups of tea and when I reached he tea stall, some people said that my right hand was bleeding. I was wearing a full sleeve shirt and it was slashed by a blade,” he said.
Earlier, the cops had said that they installed a number of hidden cameras and handycams in Patna City to catch the person involved.
Yesterday, a teacher was attacked in a similar fashion at Dundi Bazaar area under the Chowk police station.
The police said a number of cops had been placed at different lanes to nab the people or the person. “The gang, if it is so, seems to be moving now towards Patna which is a cause of concern,” a police officer said.
The police have registered complaints in both the cases.
