Chhapra, June 8: BJP MP and its national spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy alleged that the Congress hatched a plan of genocide of more than a lakh persons who gathered at Ramlila Maidan where Baba Ramdev was on a fast.

Rudy, who was here to attend a function of the newly elected zila parishad, was addressing journalists at the Chhapra circuit house today.

He criticised the manner of the crackdown and said on the one hand the Centre was engaging Ramdev in talks and on the other hand it was planning to kill him.

“The incidents of lathicharge in the early hours of June 5, hurling of tear gases and the efforts to burn the pandal when so many people were residing has completely exposed the Congress. This action was barbaric. Such a thing was not even witnessed during the war of Independence,” he said.

Rudy lambasted the Congress, alleging that the party has “no stand on the issue of corruption”. “On the other hand, the BJP has always fought against corruption and has supported the people or institutions fighting for the cause,” he said.

Rudy also questioned the silence of the human rights commission, civil societies over the issue of barbaric attack on Ramdev and his followeres.

Rudy said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s credibility has come to an end. When the Congress failed to stop the persons raising the issue of corruption, it very deftly attached the issue of corruption with communalism.

Rudy said Sushma ji is the “pride of the BJP” and she danced to the tune of a patriotic song “Ye desh hai vir jawano ka”. He said the Congress and Sonia Gandhi like songs like “Sab golmal hai bhai sab golmal hai”.
