Super 30 founder Anand Kumar with Bahubali stars Tamannaah Bhatia and Rana Daggubati at the India Day parade in New York, the Indian diaspora's showpiece event in the Big Apple, on Sunday. The Federation of Indian Associations has been organising the parade since 1981. The parade usually features a Bollywood actor as "grand marshal" - it was Telugu star Daggubati this time - and "floats" - open-top trucks, usually of Indian community organisations - with singers and dancers onboard making their way down Madison Avenue. Anand was invited as a guest in recognition of his Super 30 initiative that helps bright, underprivileged students crack the IIT entrace exam. "We all should come together to help India achieve its old status of world leader in the field of knowledge," Anand said at the event. "India always has had a rich legacy in the field of education and we must contribute to see our country as a world leader in this knowledge era."
