Security plea reply

Patna, March 7: The high court today disposed of a PIL seeking direction to the state government to minimise, recall and cut the number of policemen who are deputed as personal bodyguards or security guards in the houses of MPs, MLAs, MLCs, ministers and officers, from more than statutory provision.

The court had earlier sought the details from the government, which were presented today. The government apprised the court that it has framed a policy on who would be provided security. The government also said it will open more police stations for effective policing in Bihar.

Bail case

Patna: Hearing in the bail case of former Bihar School Examination Board chairman Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh, an accused in the Intermediate result scam, was adjourned to March 27 on Tuesday.
