Mobile phones found in jail raids
patna: A total of nine mobile phones, five mobile chargers, several packets of marijuana and a large quantity of Naxalite literature were seized during surprise inspection of Jamui and Munger divisional jails on Sunday.
The officials also seized a diary from the prisoners' ward of Jamui jail, which contained names of several contractors of the district. Jamui district magistrate Nishikant Tiwary has recommended removal of the jailor and the assistant jailor for his alleged contacts with some inmates of the jail.

Murder
Gaya (PTI): An accredited social health activist (Asha), Kiran Kumari (30), was murdered on Sunday by criminals in Dundichack village under jurisdiction of Atri police station of Gaya, police said. The incident occurred after assailants barged into the house of the victim and slit her throat with a sharp weapon. The woman was alone at home at that time. She was found dead lying in a pool of blood by her neighbours, sources said. The body has been sent for post-mortem to Anugrah Medical College and Hospital.

khagaria (PTI): A newborn girl was found dead on the sadar hospital premises on Sunday, a hospital official said. The child was found in a heap of garbage.
Six held
Patna: Six persons were arrested on the charge of impersonation from two examination centres under the jurisdiction of SK Puri and Pirbahore police stations in Patna on Sunday. The arrested persons had appeared at the written test for the recruitment of constables in the Assam Rifles.
