Strike called off

Patna: Drivers and technicians working under 102 ambulance services in the district called off their strike on Friday.

They went on strike on Tuesday citing that they were not given salaries for the past four months. Sources said the officials of Dr Jain Video on Wheels Ltd on Friday met the protesters and assured them that they would soon receive their salaries. Sources said the company has provided the protesters two months’ salary after which the strike was called off.

Cong attack

Patna: Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Rakesh Kumar on Friday attacked chief minister Nitish Kumar for the alleged deterioration of law and order in the state. He also said the Nitish government had failed in all aspects. Rakesh alleged that crime against women had increased in the state and the government had failed to provide security to the people.

PMC poll

Patna: The district administration on Friday announced the imposition of section 144 of CrPC in the areas falling under ward number 35 on December 29. Sources said the decision was being taken for the by-election in that ward of Patna Municipal Corporation.

Meet

Patna: Bihar Pradesh Panch Sarpanch Sangh on Friday decided to hold its state working committee meeting on January 7 at its R-Block office. Convener, general secretary and office bearers of all the 38 districts have been asked to attend the meet.

Rajgir fest

Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar would inaugurate the three-day Rajgir Mahotsav on Saturday. The festival is being organised by the tourism department. Various cultural events, including Sufi performance by Smita Bellur and Odissi by Aruna Mohanty, would be organised during the event. Kailash Kher would also perform at the event.

Harass charge

Patna: National Builders’ Association on Friday accused police of harassing its members who took part in a protest programme on Thursday. The association media in-charge D.K. Singh on Friday issued a media statement related to this.
