Foodgrain fraud case after raid
Purnea: A case of fraud, following the order of Sadar sub-divisional officer Himanshu Sharma, was lodged on Wednesday under Mufassil police station against seven persons in connection with illegally unloading bags of wheat and rice of Food Corporation of India.
Sharma, along with Sadar sub-divisional police officer Manoj Kumar, had gone to Belori and found illegal unloading of three trucks of rice and wheat. He also found illegal bags of wheat and rice at the residence of one Subhash Sah of Belori where unloading of other bags were done on Tuesday night.
The bags of wheat and rice were expected to reach the godown of state food corporation of Dhamdaha, while they were being unloaded at Belori.
Rules jab for appointment
Patna: Bihar Agriculture Post-Graduate Association on Wednesday alleged that the state government has bypassed the UGC Rules while making appointment to the post of assistant teacher-cum-junior scientist in the state agricultural universities.
Association general secretary Suresh Prasad said 36 candidates from the reserved category and general category were terminated from service after five years. He also said candidates from Uttar Pradesh have been appointed in different agricultural universities of the state while it is clearly mentioned in the UGC Rules that candidates from outside the state will not be appointed to the aforesaid post.

Patna: Bharatiya Mahila Bank has introduced a special loan product — BMB Annapurna Catering Service Loan — to assist women in establishing their own units for catering services.
Power theft
Purnea: A team of electricity department, led by executive engineer Pranav Kumar, on Wednesday conducted a surprise inspection at the residence of rural development director Yogesh Singh and found out that in his absence, the caretaker of the house, Kanhaiya Prasad, was using the water pump. The officials imposed a fine of Rs 30, 000 on Prasad for power theft. Since Singh has recently joined the office, the charge was put on Prasad who was living there since long.
Girls rescued
Purnea: Two girls from a minority community were rescued in unconcious state on Tuesday evening from Purnea railway station by the joint efforts of government rail police and Childline officials of the district.

Patna: The first national course on educational sciences for teachers of medical colleges concluded at AIIMS-Patna on Wednesday.
Building order
Patna: The court of Patna municipal commissioner Kuldip Narayan on Wednesday gave final order in vigilance cases against five buildings in the city. Orders were issued to demolish the sixth floor of a commercial building located on Boring Canal Road and its portion built by encroaching the setback area.
Rape charge
Patna: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by three youths at Masumganj in Patna rural on Monday night.
