Patna, Oct. 27: Finances, or the lack of it, would soon stop being a hurdle to education as a community is being planned to ensure children can continue their studies in economic downtime.
The CBSE Patliputra Sahodaya School Complex has decided to form a community that would look after the education of children recently bereaved or financially underprivileged. Patliputra Sahodaya has 100 and odd institutions under it. The community will be called God’s Wards Community.
Patliputra Sahodaya secretary C.B. Singh, said: “There have been several instances where we have seen schools not allowing children to continue their studies because their financial condition has deteriorated. It could also because the earning member of the family has passed away and the child’s school fees cannot be paid. So, members of Patliputra Sahodaya have decided to do something to help them. Patliputra Sahodaya would pay for the children’s studies. The member-schools of Patliputra Sahodaya would also see to it that such students either get free education or at a highly subsidised monthly fee.”
He added that other institutions, including those affiliated to ICSE and Bihar board, would also be requested to let the students continue their education.
The students would also get free stationery and uniform. The objective, Singh said, was education to all.
Students who can join the community should be between six and 17 years. The process to enrol students in the community would start from December 1. Students or their guardians can know about the registration process on the Sahodaya website.
“The motive is to allow education to all, irrespective of a family’s economic condition. Children, in such cases, should not lose their confidence and rather be encouraged to perform better. Students who would be part of the community will also enjoy events organised exclusively for them. Counselling by Sahodaya experts, co-curricular and cultural activities, excursions, annual sports meet and opportunities to meet role models would be some of the exclusive programmes,” Singh added.
The events would be organised from time to time to help the children build their careers and personalities.
