A bank emergency alarm that went off accidentally in Madhepura district on Thursday triggered a stampede-like situation for panic-stricken customers still trying to overcome the trauma caused by the April 25 earthquake.
Police said at least six persons, including two women and an infant, suffered injuries in the commotion.
Four seriously injured persons were admitted to Madhepura sadar hospital for treatment.
State Bank of India main branch manager Sudhir Kumar Naik said the siren rang for 30 seconds after some snag. People started running for safety.
