Nalanda police on Thursday attached the property of Ashish Ranjan, one of the main accused in the Ritik Raj abduction and murder case.
Ashish fled from the Ekangarsarai police station lock-up after foxing the men-in-uniform on Monday night and has been on the run since then.
Nalanda superintendent of police Rajesh Kumar on Thursday said all the accused were adults and two of the arrested accused had been taken on two-day police remand.
While Ashish is 22 years old, Kundan Kumar, who runs a coaching centre at Nabiganj (Nalanda), is 28. The other person, identified as Deepu Kumar, a student at a coaching centre, is 18 years old. Kundan and Deepu were arrested on May 3.
On Wednesday, additional director-general of police (headquarters) Sunil Kumar said preliminary investigations had revealed that the men had demanded money for the boy's release.
Police sources said nothing specific could be found about the kidnap and murder.
"Ritik's father is claiming that the men had not asked for money to release his son," another police officer said.
Ritik, a resident of Nabiganj, went missing on Sunday morning after he had gone with Ashish who had invited him to play cricket. The boy, a student of Class VIII at St Mary's School, never returned and the family lodged a missing diary the same afternoon. Around 7pm on Sunday, Ritik's father Niranjan Sahu, a businessman, got a call in which he was made to hear the voice of his son and was informed that Ritik had been kidnapped. Following this, the family lodged an FIR with the Ekangarsarai police station and named Ashish as an accused.
Ritik's uncle Sanjay Sahu said: "On Thursday, some of us decided to visit the spot where our boy had been kept. There was bloodstain all around and we found many hair strands of Ritik. The police had arrested Ashish but he managed to flee. How did he just escape from the police station?"
