Patna, Jan. 19: One person was arrested today in connection with the daylight murder of land agent Raju Khan (40) and six-year-old Aamir on Wednesday afternoon in the Ajinabad Colony under Bahadurpur police station.

Pacifying a group of residents who blocked the Sultanganj Road for more than two hours this morning, the police said one Azam has been nabbed and more arrests are likely in a couple of days.

Azam, said police, is a resident of Dargah Road under the Sultanganj police station.

“Two persons — Azam and Munid — are named in the FIR besides three other accused. Azam has been nabbed and is being interrogated at this moment. The other accused will be arrested soon,” Patna senior superintendent of police Alok Kumar said.

The residents, however, were not convinced with the police assurance. “Patna City has witnessed to a spate of criminal incidents in the recent past. The cops are just sitting idle not taking any concrete step to prevent these incidents. People are living under constant fear,” Mohammed Qadir, a resident of Sultanganj, said.
