Vinay Kumar, commandant of 5th battalion of Bihar Military Police stationed in Patna, has been given additional charge of Patna SSP.

Patna SSP Jitendra Rana has proceeded on leave for a week. Unlike earlier occasions when either city SP or SP (rural) was given additional charge, the BMP commandant has been asked to look after the affairs this time. The government has also promoted seven IAS officers of the 2005 and 2006 batches to the additional secretary rank. Those promoted include Kumar Ravi and Sandeep Kumar Pudakalkatti, DMs of Darbhanga and Rohtas, respectively.
