Patna: Police rescued a 16-year-old boy from Masaurhi within a few hours of his abduction on Thursday evening and arrested three persons.

Rishi Kumar, the teenager from Patel Nagar in Masaurhi, had an altercation with a group of boys on motorbikes around 5pm on Thursday when he was returning from his coaching class. They had allegedly hit Rishi leading to an argument.

He returned home on foot and recounted the assault to his family when his father, Nand Kishore Prasad, lodged an FIR against the attackers. When the accused heard of the complaint, they barged into Rishi's home around 9pm and took him away.

Based on the assault FIR, the Masaurhi police in rural Patna arrested Pubama resident Vikas Kumar. Vikas, the police said, gave the cops information that led them to a room in Noora village, around 4km from Patel Nagar.

Rishi was found in the room, said Masaurhi police station house officer Sambhu Yadav.

The police arrested Manish Kumar and Sanjeev from Noora where Rishi was held. Manish is from Kharat village, while Vikas and Sanjeev are from Pubama village. The police also recovered a pistol from the site and two live cartridges. The police said seven other persons are absconding.
