Patna, Aug. 16: The Bihar government has decided to strengthen health services in every district of the state.
The cabinet today gave its nod to create 34,507 posts, which included auxiliary nurses and midwives (ANMs), lady health visitor (LHVs) and appointment of one public health nurse in all 38 districts and 534 blocks of the state, cabinet co-ordination department principal secretary Ravikant told reporters after the cabinet meeting.
There would be district public health nurses (DPHN) and block public health nurses (BPHN) in all 38 districts and 534 blocks.
The cabinet also approved the creation of 28,447 additional posts of ANMs against the existing sanctioned posts of 11,553, Ravikant said, adding that 5,488 additional posts of LHVs were created. At present, the total sanctioned post of LHVs is 1,246 in the state.
All the sanctioned posts of ANMs and LHVs would be filled up within four years, the principal secretary said.
Ravikant said the cabinet has also approved Rs 80 crore as grant for salary payment to teaching and non-teaching employees of 1,119 non-government recognised madarsas and nine madarsas for girls for the current fiscal. The government released Rs 20 crore on account of expenditure for three months.
The government would set up a centralised registration unit in Patna where traders — both outsiders and local — can register themselves at the centralised registration department which would be further sent to the registered traders to their respective commercial tax circles. It has been done keeping in mind the problems of traders, who do not know where to get registered.
