It was Team Sourav Ganguly with a difference on Monday afternoon — Prosenjit at first slip, Bhaichung at second, Barreto at third and Rituparna at fourth — at Dakshin Kalikata Sansad (DKS) on Monday afternoon to mark the unveiling of Dadatantra, a book by sports writer Gautam Bhattacharya. The star shower brought together partners (and rivals) from sports and celluloid, politics and fashion. But the spotlight was firmly on the biggest star of them all as he fielded questions from the likes of Indrani Halder and Koel Mullick, Saugata Roy and Bickram Ghosh. Sourav was in fine form with microphone in hand — “Greg Chappell contributed about 15 per cent... he was not the only person responsible (for his ouster from the team)”; “Maybe he (Dravid) thought I was not suitable (for selection)”; “I was fit enough to play for another one or one-and-a-half years in both forms of cricket”; “My best shot was the six I hit off a Chris Cairns yorker in Gwalior in 1999”; “The best ball I have seen was Wasim Akram dismissing Chris Lewis in the 1992 World Cup”; “They will throw me out of the house (if he enters films)”; “The only party I can join is the ‘home’ party, but I can never win there (on being able to win any election he stands for from any political party)”.
