Patients and staff members in Bidhannagar Sub-divisional Hospital will now have access to purified and cool drinking water.
A new water cooler was installed on the hospital premises on August 15.
Apart from the cooler, two new refrigerators were installed.
At a programme attended by the administrator of the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation Pawan Kadyan and Dr Partha Pratim Guha, the superintendent of the hospital, local MLA Sujit Bose donated various surgical equipment to the hospital.
“This is a small effort on our part to ensure that people visiting the hospital get access to clean and cool drinking water,” said Bose.
The superintendent of the hospital, while lauding the constant efforts of the state health department to modernise the hospital, thanked Bose for his gesture.
“Apart from two stretchers and blood pressure monitors we have received quite a few surgical equipment like dressing drums and instrument trolleys that will help us greatly in giving quality treatment to our patients who are generally from the financially weaker sections,” said Ghosh.
