Patient found hanging Electrocuted Fake visa Suicide bid

Patient found hanging

A 52-year-old cancer patient was found hanging in a bathroom at SSKM Hospital early on Tuesday. Police said Hamsuddin Sheikh, a resident of Domkal in Murshidabad, was admitted 12 days ago and underwent a surgery. According to a hospital source, Hamsuddin was in a lot of pain. No suicide note was found.

Electrocuted

A 28-year-old employee of a bar and restaurant on Dacres Lane died of electrocution late on Monday. Police said the mishap occurred around 8.45pm when Sushanta Kumar Patra was cleaning a sewage channel. He was taken to Calcutta Medical College and Hospital where he was declared dead.

Fake visa

Two persons were arrested at Calcutta airport early on Tuesday on the charge of travelling with forged visas. Tajuddin Ahmed, 29, of Kidderpore and Sarin Lambo, 34, of Darjeeling were about to board a Frankfurt-bound Lufthansa flight when they were nabbed.

Suicide bid

A 19-year-old girl of Ghusuri in Howrah jumped into the Hooghly from Howrah bridge on Tuesday evening. She was rescued by boatmen.
