On Monday evening, some men were spotted installing barbed wire fencing on both sides of the median divider from the Bhikharam island to the Kalyan Jewellers island. 

They were spotted by traffic police personnel on duty. Traffic inspector, Bidhannagar, Biplab Mondal ordered the fencing to be dismantled. “The iron spikes were angled outward. It would have caused grievious injury to any motorcyclist passing by,” he said.
