Darjeeling, June 2: The Nepali Sahitya Sammelan of Darjeeling has bagged the 13th Siddhicharan Shrestha Puraskar for outstanding service to Nepali literature.

Addressing a press conference at the Sammelan Bhawan today, organisation president Prem Pradhan, said the then Nepal prime minister of Lokendra Bahadur Chand had handed over the award to their representative at Kathmandu on May 23.

The award, given by Yug Kabi Siddhicharan Pratistan, comprises a citation and Nepali currency 50,000.

The Sammelan had, in 1993, also received the Madan Puraskar for outstanding service in the field of Nepali literature. The award was given by Madan Puraskar Ghuti.
