Jalpaiguri, March 3: Jalpaiguri police bagged the Best Kept Police Station Award and Best Kept District Award of the state police department this year.
While the district bagged the second award, being the first in North Bengal, Kumargram police station that came into the news during the KLO movement has been chosen the best police station of the state.
?We are proud to have earned both the awards from Jalpaiguri district. Such awards will simultaneously instill a sense of security among the residents of the district and also boost the morale of the police force,? said K.K. Mallick, the additional superintendent of police, Jalpaiguri.
Rahul Srivastava, the superintendent of police of Jalpaiguri, and Asit Sau, the officer-in-charge of Kumargram police station, will be handed the prizes at a combined parade ceremony at Brigade Parade Ground in Calcutta on March 5.
