Gangtok, July 18: After Indian Idol, now is the time for the Himalayan Idol.
S.K. Audiovision in Gangtok, the only Nepali music company in the country, has taken on the challenge to find the most talented Nepali singing sensation in the Hills and the Northeast. Ek Smar Khoj will hunt for the most gifted Nepali singer ? the future Himalayan Idol.
Rakesh Somani, the proprietor of S.K. Audiovision, said they were searching for new vocalists who would be a professional entertainer. ?The preliminary rounds will be held in Darjeeling, Gangtok, Kalimpong, Siliguri, Jaigaon and Shillong, forms of which would be distributed from Reliance outlets in those areas from July 21,? Somani said. ?The auditions would be held from August 20 to 22 in Gangtok and August 27 to 29 in Darjeeling. Then it would be taken to Kalimpong, Jaigaon and Siliguri in September. After the first rounds, five winners from each town would be sent to the semi-finals, from where 10 candidates will be selected for the final round in Gangtok.?
?Our company will sign a deal with the winner and will help him bring out a music album,? he added. ?He will receive five per cent royalty of each of the cassettes sold.?
