From five types of phuchka to a variety of street food popular on the city roads (think vada pav, dhokla chaat, hot chips and more) made the three-day Chaat Festival, presented by City Centre and t2, a hit at City Centre Salt Lake. Vignettes from the final day...
Three-year-old Pratyaksha Thakur doesn’t have a sweet tooth, rather she “loves all things chatpata”. At the Chaat Festival, she happily shared a plate of Papri Chaat from Gupta Brothers (New Alipore) with her mother Priyansha.
(L-R) Friends Ankita, Devlina, Ishika and Dipannita shared a plate of Mixed Chaat from Bandana Chat Centre before trying Dahi Phuchka at the Kund area on Sunday. “We read about the festival in today’s Metro on Sunday and decided to come. We love chaats and other street food,” said the Howrah residents.
The Roy family from Palm Avenue — Moloy, Anubha and Kanon — have always wanted to attend at least one food festival at City Centre. “When we saw the list of participating stalls in t2, we said we must go,” said Anubha, while enjoying an egg roll from Kusum Rolls.
