Siliguri, Feb. 15: The Corps of Signals celebrated its 94th raising day throughout the country today. The celebrations were also held at many bases in 33 Corps.

In the 94 years of its existence, the Corps of Signals has made several benchmark achievements in the communications arena for the army, implementing niche technologies and providing signal intelligence and electronic warfare support. The corps has also provided operational connectivity to the navy and air force.

Setting up a Cyber Security Establishment at army headquarters and cyber security cells at the regional headquarters to protect defence networks is a recent task that the corps has undertaken, a release issued here said.

In the tsunami aftermath, the Corps provided the civil administration in the Andamans and coastal Tamil Nadu and Kerala with vital communication links.
