China has opened a visa application service centre in Salt Lake, the third in India after Delhi and Mumbai.
The consulate-general of China has appointed VFS Global — an outsourcing and technology services specialist for diplomatic missions — for setting up the facility on the ground floor of the BIPI Building Omega at the Bengal Intelligent Park in Salt Lake’s Sector V.
The centre will receive applications for visas that will be “assessed and processed” by the consulate-general.
Visa applications can be submitted from 9am to 2pm from Monday to Friday (except declared holidays). The duration of passport collection is 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday (except declared holidays).
A dedicated website (www.visaforchina.org) will provide access to visa information, while a call centre (+91-33-40010210) and an email support (kolkatacentre@visaforchina.org) will handle visa queries.
“We invite applicants wishing to travel to China to visit our new state-of-the-art and well-equipped Chinese visa application service centre and benefit from the renewed and additional services,” said Murali Raghavan, chief operating officer, south Asia and CIS, VFS Global.
