May, the month of examination results, will see at least three school boards — ICSE/ISC, Madhyamik and Higher Secondary — declare theirs within a 15-day window starting May 17.
“Evaluation of ICSE/ISC answer scripts is underway but we have set a target to announce the results latest by the third week of May,” Gerry Arathoon, the secretary of the Council for Indian School Certificate examinations, said.
The heads of ICSE/ISC schools received a circular recently informing them about the decision.
Since most of these institutions will then be in summer recess, all principals and headmasters have been asked to make arrangements to distribute mark sheets and pass certificates without any delay.
In 2012, the ICSE/ISC results were declared on May 19. “This year, it could be any day between May 17 and 21,” a source said.
The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education is planning to declare the results of Madhyamik between May 27 and 29. “The evaluation process is almost complete,” board administrator Kalyanmoy Ganguly said.
The Higher Secondary board is targeting a date in the last week of the month for the plus-two results. “The exams ended earlier than in previous years, so we should be able to advance the results as well,” an official said.
The results of HS 2012 were declared on June 4.
