The special court of the CBI in Asansol on Friday remanded former Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) director Sunil Kumar Jha and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) inspector Anand Singh in the central agency's custody for four days.

The duo had been arrested by the CBI on Thursday evening after they had appeared at the agency’s Nizam Palace office in Calcutta for interrogation.

CBI lawyers told the court that Jha and Singh had taken money from smugglers on several occasions.
