Kohima, Nov. 15: The 20th Royal Gold Cup all-India football tournament would begin here tomorrow.
The tournament sponsored by Nagaland State AIDS Control Society, would witness eight teams from outside the state and seven local teams.
The teams are IAM FC Imphal, Betul Oil, Madhya Pradesh, T.T. Aizawl FC, Mizoram, Dengzong Boys, Sikkim, Kankre FC Mumbai, NEROCA, Imphal, Mizoram Youth Team, Aizawl and Nangkiew-IRAT-SC Shillong. Local teams are Excel United, Life Sports FC, Naga Prege FC, Mon district sports association, Peren district sports association and Headquarters 5 Sector Assam Rifles.
Teams from outside Kohima will receive fares for bus and second class train. The match allowances have been fixed at Rs 3, 000 for preliminary rounds, Rs 4, 000 for pre-quarterfinals, Rs 6, 000 for quarter-finals and Rs 10,000 for semi-finals.
Tomorrow in the opening match, Nangkiew IRAT Sports Club Shillong will clash with HQ 5 Sector Assam Rifles at 2pm.
