Centre to tap NE food processing

Union minister of state for food processing industries Rameswar Teli said the Centre was committed to develop the untapped food processing sector in the Northeast and urged entrepreneurs of the region to participate in the process.

He made the appeal during a Food Tech Conclave under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana to develop the food processing sector in Dibrugarh district. The conclave was held at a hotel here on Thursday.

Organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce in association with the Union ministry of food processing industries and the Dibrugarh district administration, it was attended by Teli, Dibrugarh deputy commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha, co-chairman, Northeast, Indian Chamber of Commerce, Prabhat K. Bezbaruah, deputy director, Indian Chamber of Commerce, Guwahati, Anuradha Goswami, and Nabard general manager P.K. Maheswari, among others.
