Patna, July 27: Patna High Court today directed the state government to come up with a concrete plan on appointing lecturers in different colleges by August 31.
A bench comprising Chief Justice Rekha M. Doshit and Justice Jyoti Saran issued the order after hearing a PIL seeking a directive to the state to fill up the vacant posts of lecturers.
Representing the state, additional advocate-general Lalit Kishore said the rationalisation process of the student-teacher ratio in various universities was complete and the process of appointing lecturers will be taken forward after the chancellor gives his opinion.
The petition claimed that the standard of higher education was deteriorating due to the state government’s lackadaisical approach.
